A presentation event was organized at the Open University of Sri Lanka in July 2019 to publicize the project to all involved parties and stakeholders and to encourage participation. The event was promoted through personal invitations, word of mouth, website banners and social media. The news media was present and CONTESSA received coverage in multiple Sri Lankan newspapers.
