DEVELOPMENT I: TRAIN-THE-TRAINER
DEVELOPMENT II: ONLINE MODULES
ABOUT CONTESSA PROJECT
CONTESSA is a new Erasmus+ project funded by the European Commission that makes a significant contribution to the branch of Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE). The project is led by the University of Graz and aims to further the development of teaching skills in Cambodia and Sri Lanka through carefully selected partnerships with institutions of higher education and local educational organizations.
Teacher trainers will be offered a comprehensive Train-the-Trainer (TTT) program in the form of a multi-day workshop placing a focus on contemporary educational theories, approaches and methods in order to strengthen the quality of university teaching.
Trainee teachers will be provided with access to an online-based learning program that consists of five modules and places an emphasis on the acquisition of modern and applicable teaching skills. This program will be introduced via an OER platform.
In-service teachers will be provided with access to modified online-modules that have been adapted to fit the continued education needs of teachers who are currently working in classrooms.
TRAIN THE TRAINER PROGRAM
This program will supply teacher trainers with the skills and information needed to transfer knowledge to teachers and trainee teachers. We call this our multiplier program as the goal is for teacher trainers to pass this knowledge on to others. It is one of the ways we hope to see this project live on long after the official end. The program also serves to empower trainers to implement CONTESSA in teacher training.
This module will focus on how to effectively use information and communications technology (ICT) so that it aligns with learning objectives, subject matter and assessments in the classroom.
This module will serve as a foundation for effective teaching practice to ensure that the core components of primary school teaching are considered when planning, conducting and evaluating learning and teaching processes.
This module explores learner-centered education, and upon its completion, the participants will have a better understanding of how to incorporate the individual interests and needs of children into a cooperative learning environment.
In this module, participants will explore the various pedagogical roles, tasks and functions of a teacher. One central task is educationally meaningful lesson planning which will be treated analytically and reflexively.
This module will address the question of how diversity affects the classroom and provide practical tips for promoting an inclusive environment to enable all learners to acquire skills for their future lives.
