Cambodia is a country in Southeast Asia with approximately sixteen million inhabitants and a population increase of 1.5% annually. Over two million inhabitants live in Phnom Penh, the capital and largest city in Cambodia.

Cambodia has made great progress in educating its children. Since 2007, the number of children enrolled in preschool programs has more than doubled and the number enrolled in primary education has increased from 82% in 1997 to over 97% in 2017.

Cambodia’s culture is deeply rooted in and informed by both the greatness and the difficulties of the past. The Khmer Empire was influenced greatly by Indian culture and the incredible architecture seen at the world renowned temple complexes of Angkor Wat was the pinnacle of Khmer creativity.
