After much planning and determination, the Train-the-Trainer workshops were held in person in Cambodia and Sri Lanka. The TUD team together with our partners from PUC, UC, OUSL and UoC led the workshops in the CONTESSA smart classrooms. Teacher trainers from both countries were introduced to the CONTESSA modules and worked through interactive exercises on professional development, mentoring and cross-national perspectives.
Manjula Vithanapathirana disseminated the CONTESSA Modules as open educational resources for primary education teachers at the inaugural address of the Multidisciplinary International Conference (online) titled ‘Journey of Teacher Education Reform.’
Sandra Hummel presented the collaborative research paper with Manjula Vithanapathirana titled ‘ Enhancing Contemporary Teaching Skills to Address the Changing Role of Teachers as a Results of the Long-term Social Impacts of the Covid-19 Pandemic’.
Professor Rudolf Egger (Uni Graz) was a keynote speaker at the University of Colombo’s International Research Symposium online. He spoke about the connection between research, knowledge and communication and discussed the ongoing CONTESSA project and its role in interdisciplinary research in education.
Professor Manjula Vithanapathirana presented CONTESSA at the virtual International Conference on Multidisciplinary Approaches in Science (ICMAS) at the University of Colombo as an invited speaker for the session entitled “COVID-19; The Sri Lankan Perspective”.
CONTESSA and the Train-the-Trainer program were presented at the Work2021-Conference in Turku, Finland.
